Overview
A digital-native coliving project rethinking the modern city
Cabin is a woodsy, digital-native coliving project trying to rethink the modern city with a touch of crypto governance — providing online communities a place to come together to live and work IRL across a network of privately owned properties around the world.
Cabin's vision embraces blockchain technology to create an IRL RPG — a financially sustainable way for the community to continue to grow, while simultaneously providing a value and vibe alignment check for people who want to colive in Cabin neighborhoods.
I collaborated with the team to design and build a web app where Cabin's community can view rich member profiles, discover new neighborhoods to visit, and keep track of activity happening across the entire community.
Process
Designing for a community that builds itself
Designing for a decentralized community is fundamentally different from designing for a traditional product. The users are also the builders — so the interface needed to reflect their agency and foster participation, not just consume content.
